Sionna 2008 will be the eight in a series of annual festivals of traditional music taking place in Limerick City. The festival will feature music, song and dance from Ireland, England, Scotland, Hungary, France, India and the USA. Venues around Limerick will host events, ranging from schools workshops to masterclasses, sessions, concerts and ceilís.

Sionna is hosted by the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick, under the directorship of Dr Mícheál Ó Súilleabhain and Eoin Ó Súilleabháin.
