Cnoc Aine - The Hill of Aine.
Knockainy (Cnoc Aine), a short distance uphill on the raod from Hospital to Lough Gur, has an old Church of Ireland Church (1861) still in use. The village gets its name from association with Aine, in folklore remembered as a daughter of a Tuatha de Danann Chieftain, a Celtic Sun Goddess (see Lough Gur).
