Gleann na gCreabhar - The Glen of The Woodcocks. Anglesboro, a picturesque village, is situated close to Limerick - Cork boundary and near Galbally. It lies at the foot of the Galty Mountains. The origins of its English place name are unusual and have no connection with the older Gaelic name. The village has a strong republican tradition. The local commemorative stone bares the inscription "1867 - 1923. Erected to the memory of the men and women of Gleann na gCreabhar who fought for Irish independance. Na dean dearmad orthu na ar an eacht a rinneader. "Eire go deo" (Do not forget them or the deeds they did. Ireland forever)".
