Baile an Fhaoitigh - White's Town.
The village of Ballyneety is situated at a crossroads on the R.512 road Limerick to Kilmallock. Its Irish place name translates as White's Town. The late 19th Century Courthouse, the Sessions House is an interesting building, recently restored. The old Church of Ireland Church on the road to Crecora, was deconsecrated some years back and is now a private residence. Further along the R.512 road to Kilmallock is Limerick County Golf and Country Club - An 18 hole golf course, driving range and golf cottages together with an attractive residential area. Nearby at Kirby's Cross are signposted the 1830's Ballybricken Catholic Church and the ruins of Rockstown Castle. The site of Sarsfield's Rock is 6km South of New Pallas, off the N.24 Limerick - Tipperary Road in the townland of Ballyneety. The site comprises of a large rock outcrop overlooking the surrounding countryside and located beside St. Brigid's Catholic Church at Templebraden. The historic significance of the site is its role in the episode of Irish History to do with the Williamite Wars (1689 - '91) and The Sieges of Limerick (1690 - '91).
