Kilmallock will host Ireland’s largest multi-period battle re-enactment events over the August Weekend. From Friday August 22nd to Sunday August 24th 2008 the town will come alive with over 200 battle re-enactment participants camping there for three days. The various groups will re-enact battles from Roman, Norman and Medieval times. The first and second world wars will be represented as will the American and Irish wars of Independence to list but a few. The groups will wear the military uniform of the period and will also bring with them a selection of the military vehicles of the day. Re-enactment groups will travel from all over Ireland, the UK and Europe to provide colourful spectacle. Battles will be re-enacted every day.
